Overview: Students experience the voice and perspective of a Syrian refugee through the examination of a primary source. Students create a piece of art based on that primary source. Collection: Crash Test World Episode: Season 1, episode 3


 

Sustainable, Clean, Green Cities (NYC Episode)

Overview: With approximately 50% of the world’s people living in cities, it is imperative to find solutions to make cities more livable, accessible, and clean. This lesson looks at five major cities who have been implementing innovative “clean” initiatives making them some of the global leaders in sustainable and eco-friendly urban development. Students will use data/statistics to learn about these cities and synthesize what unique practices these urban spaces have in common. There are opportunities for service learning projects as well as for students to extend their learning. Episode: Season 1, episode 1 & 2
