Prime Minister |
|
In the United Kingdom, the Prime Minister is the elected leader of Parliament. The leader of the political party that wins the most seats in Parliament is named the Prime Minister. The U.K. has two leaders; the king or queen and the Prime Minister. The king or queen give advice to the Prime Minister about governmental matters, but legislation is the responsibility of Parliament. Tony Blair became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in 1997 and still holds that position in 2006. The Prime Minister lives at 10 Downing Street while he holds that title.
