Shakespeare’s England
Epilogue - Leaving London
Day 31

What a journey it has been!  Today, I woke up and it struck me that our trip has come to an end. In a few hours we leave England and I return to New York City. I quickly packed my belongings so that I could enjoy a few more hours before heading to the airport.

It was strange to leave the hotel without cameras in hand. I headed to Borough Market for one last food frenzy which included another huge brownie. Just a few hours left for walking along the Thames, where I passed Shakespeare's Globe, the Tate Modern, and all of the other places I have gotten to know quite well.

I thought it would be overwhelming to learn so much about the history of England and William Shakespeare. However, this trip has made me want to learn even more!  My favorite part of the trip was hearing everyone's story. Each person we met had something wonderful to share; it was like reading a great book!

I think what I learned most on this trip is that you should always do something you love. Whether it was a Member of Parliament, a bell maker, an actor, or a cheese seller, everyone has the ability to love their job. Those people made our trip wonderful and I am lucky to have met so many extraordinary people. I certainly hope you enjoyed meeting them too!

We grabbed our bags and piled into a taxi. For some reason it looked like we had much more than when we arrived. I am not sure how this happened; there was little time for shopping. Our plane will be boarding soon, then it is a long flight back to New York City.

While it is sad to leave, I look forward to sharing my own stories and photos with my friends and family, and I look forward to sharing our next expedition with you.

Cheerio!
