Amman is the capital of Jordan. It’s also the largest city in the country.

Around 3 million people live in Amman, which is almost half the population of the entire country. While the majority of the people in Amman are Muslim, there is a small Christian population.

Many different civilizations have lived in Amman, including the Persians, the Greeks, and the Romans. In ancient times, the city was called Philadelphia, but the name was changed to Amman in the 3rd century CE.
