Day 1

Hi! I’m Sarah. I am from Memphis, Tennessee. I just moved to New York City.

Before my trip to England, I made a list of things to bring. I did not want to forget anything. The most important things on my list were:

  • my passport;
  • warm clothes and a raincoat;
  • my camera.
My ProjectExplorer team members are: Christopher, Jackie, Jenny, and Hannah.

Our flight was very long. It took 7 hours to get to London from New York City.

The first thing you must do when visiting a new country is see an immigration officer. Then, we collected our suitcases. Our suitcases were marked with tags that said ProjectExplorer. That made them easy to find.

Then, we took a taxicab to our hotel. Inside the taxi were seats that faced the front of the car and two seats that faced the back of the cab. Jackie and I sat on the seats that faced the back. We got to ride in the taxi going backwards.

Our taxi driver took us to The Mad Hatter Hotel. Jackie is my roommate for this trip. Our room has twin beds so it is perfect for us to share.

We are all very tired because of the time change. I am off to bed so that we can start exploring tomorrow.
