Turkish Delight
One of the best parts of travelling is experiencing new foods. That is exactly what today was all about! London is packed with every type of cuisine imaginable.
Today we visited Tas Pide, a Turkish restaurant. A Turkish meal usually starts with a small bowl of soup to warm up the stomach before the main meal. It’s a bit like stretching before you exercise. We tried borek, a cheese and spinach pastry. Borek is a traditional Turkish food. We also tried a Turkish pizza with Hellim cheese and apricots. Yummy! At the end of our meal we had Turkish Delight and Turkish coffee. The coffee comes in tiny cups and it is supposed to help you digest your food, but it is very high in caffeine. The food at Tas Pide was great for a team of hungry explorers. Do you have any traditional foods in your family?
