London from Above
Day 17
At first, the London Eye looked a bit scary. It looks like a giant bicycle wheel with pods around the outside. A trip on the London Eye takes 30 minutes. It is one of the most popular places in the city to visit. Once I was inside our pod, I could see why people like the Eye. It was a cloudy day, but I could still see for many miles. I saw some great sites. When we got on the Eye it was just getting dark and the lights of the city were coming on. That was fantastic to see!
Some of the sights I could see were: Covent Garden, Big Ben, St. Paul's Cathedral, Parliament, Millennium Bridge, and the bridges that cross the Thames River. I had to do research and learn about the London Eye so that I could share the facts with you. Some of my notes are in my scrapbook for you to see. We only had 1 hour to get everything done. While making our video, people in other pods were taking pictures of us. I thought that was funny. Maybe they thought we were famous! When people think of buildings and structures in London, many think of the London Eye. Can you think of other cities with famous buildings or structures? Does your hometown have any? With my head in the clouds,
