The Dream/Epilogue

“I’ll note you in my book of memory.” (from Shakespeare’s Henry VI Part 1)

Today, you are in for a real treat. Our very own Christopher shared a monologue from William Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

In the video, Christopher speaks the last lines of the play, called the epilogue. These lines are spoken by a character named Puck. Puck is sometimes called Robin Goodfellow. He is a fairy or a sprite.

During the play, Puck is mischevious and a bit naughty. He likes to play pranks on some of the characters in the play. His speech at the end of the play is an apology for all that he has done. Puck asks the audience to forgive him, since it was all just a play, with no real harm done.

My own epilogue: Leaving a place is always a little sad.

During my trip, I met many interesting people. I learned a lot about the history of England and the people who live here today. I learned that if you ask questions and are a good listener, people everywhere will teach you something.

Now it’s time to pack my bags. I have to double check that I have everything, especially my passport. And now to ready for a long flight back to New York City.

Cheerio!
