Say Cheese!
Day 19

Neal’s Yard Dairy is a fantastic cheese shop not too far from our hotel. That is very good news for our team, because we all love cheese!

Neal's Yard is famous for selling many different kinds of cheese that are made in the United Kingdom.

We spoke to Martin, who works in the shop. I don't think I could work at Neal’s Yard. I would want to eat cheese all day long.

Martin taught me a lot about how cheese is made and how it is stored. The shop is kept cool and moist to protect the flavor of the cheese. Some of the cheeses have very funny names. I liked the one called Ticklemore.

Once we learned about the history of cheese, we all got to taste some! We tasted a cheese called Cheshire. A cheese like Cheshire would have been made during Shakespeare’s time. There were lots of cheeses made of sheep’s milk and goats’ milk.

Yum, cheese! What kind of cheese do you like to eat?

Well fed,
