Neal’s Yard Dairy
“Do you not smile at this?” (from Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure)
Neal’s Yard Dairy is a fantastic cheese shop near our hotel. That is very good news for our team, because we all love cheese! Neal’s Yard is famous for selling many different kinds of cheese that are made in the United Kingdom. I learned how cheese is made and how it is stored. The shop is kept cool and moist to protect the flavor of the cheese. Some of the cheeses at Neal’s Yard have very funny names. I liked the one called Ticklemore. Once we learned about the history of cheese, we all got to taste some! We tasted a yellow cheese called Cheshire. Cheeses like Cheshire were made during Shakespeare’s time. There were also lots of cheeses made of sheeps’ milk and goats’ milk. What kind of cheese do you like to eat?
