The White Tower
whitetower illustration

Construction on the White Tower began in 1078. This single building was the the original Tower of London.

In the 13th Century, King Henry III had it painted white. Since then, it has been called the White Tower.

Once the home for kings and queens, the royal family attended religious services at the Chapel of St. John located inside the White Tower.

Today, the royal armor is kept inside, and armor once worn by King Henry VIII can be seen here!
