Stratford-upon-Avon is about 100 miles northwest of London. “Upon Avon” means that it is located on the Avon River in England.

Stratford-upon-Avon is the town in which William Shakespeare was born and lived.

Due to it’s connection to William Shakespeare is a popular tourist location. It’s the home of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare’s school, The Holy Trinity Church, and New Place.
