Richard III became King of England in 1483.

Richard was crowned king when his 2 nephews, Edward V and Richard, disappeared from the Tower of London. Historians believe that Richard had them killed so that he could become king. William Shakespeare was inspired this story and wrote a play called Richard III.

Richard was killed in battle in 1485.
