Christopher Marlowe was born in 1564, the same year as William Shakespeare’s birth.

Another popular playwright during the Elizabethan Era, some of Marlowe’s most famous works include:

  • Dr. Faustus
  • The Jew of Malta
  • Tamburlaine

In May 1593, Marlowe was killed when he was stabbed in the eye during a fight.
