Built to celebrate the year 2000, the London Eye opened on December 31, 1999.

Since opening, it has become one of the most popular attractions in London. On a clear day, visitors can see for 25 miles in each direction.

The London Eye can be seen in many movies and television shows. You might recognize it from The Simpsons and Agent Cody Banks: Destination London.
