Falconry
falconry illustration

Falconry is training birds of prey to hunt for food. Falconry has been practiced since ancient times.

A person who trains birds to hunt is called a falconer.

During Shakespeare’s time, falconry helped provide meat for the table. The type of bird you had depended on your place in society. Kings and royals had the best birds and, therefore, dined on the best meat.
