The Clink Prison

The Clink Prison is one of the oldest prisons in England. Prisoners were kept here between the 1100s to the late 1700s.
It is located in Southwark. During Shakespeare’s lifetime, Southwark was a dangerous part of London. This prison held thieves and many other criminals. Sometimes actors who misbehaved were thrown in the Clink.
