Characters

A character is a person in a play. Characters can be based on a real person or can be someone that was made-up by the author.
Some of Shakespeare’s most famous characters include:
- Puck from A Midsummer Night’s Dream
- Hamlet
- Malvolio from Twelfth Night
- Juliet from Romeo & Juliet
- Sir John Falstaff from Henry IV (part 1), Henry IV (part 2), andThe Merry Wives of Windsor
