An Arab is a person who lives in a Middle Eastern country, or whose family did.

Arabic is a language associated with Middle Eastern countries. Many Arabs speak Arabic, but not all do: some speak Hebrew, English, French, or other languages.

Though many Muslims speak Arabic and the Qur’an is written in Arabic, the word Arab is not a religious term. Christians and Jews who live in Arab countries are also Arabs.

Today there are between 350 and 422 million Arabs in the world. The majority of Arabs live in the Middle East and other Arabic-speaking countries, but there are also over 1 million Arabs living in the United States.
