Video of the week
Plant and animal species have been dying out since life on our planet began. Scientists and historians estimate that nearly 90 percent of the species that have ever lived on Earth have gone extinct. Today, the loss of species is estimated to be between 1,000 and 10,000 times higher than the rate of species extinctions that would occur if we humans were not around.
