Shakespeare’s England
Epilogue - Leaving London
Day 31

"I'll note you in my book of memory"
(from Shakespeare's Henry VI Part 1)

Morning: I woke up and packed up my belongings. I just can't believe that I am leaving England and that our journey has come to an end.

Packing to go home is always much easier than packing to go somewhere. It's just a matter of double-checking underneath the beds to make sure you haven't forgotten anything.

After I finished packing I headed off for one last day in the city. It seemed strange to not have to be somewhere with our camera equipment in hand. Everything about the area had grown familiar to me. I passed the Shakespeare's Globe, the Clink Prinson Museum, and Tas Restaurant for one last time. I bought some last minute items to take home, including some chocolates and a few bags of lamb-flavored potato crisps. They have strange, uniquely flavored crisps in England and I like them!

During our expedition, I surprised myself with how quickly I picked up photography skills. I think I might do a photography study of my neighborhood in NYC when I get back. I loved learning about Shakespeare, and about England today. I loved meeting many different people and hearing about their unique jobs.

Early Evening: We hailed a cab, and said goodbye to the staff of the Mad Hatter hotel. We got to know everyone by name and looked forward to coming "home" each night to tell them about our day.

We all looked out the windows as we drove to the airport. All I can say is England - you're smashing!

Until next time, Cheerio!
