King Abdullah II is Jordan’s current leader. As king, he acts as the head of the Executive Branch, which means that he makes all final decisions about Jordan’s domestic and international policies. Needless to say, this is a tremendous responsibility.

Luckily, King Abdullah was well prepared to take on the functions of monarch. In his youth, Abdullah studied both in the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States. And, like his father, King Abdullah attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK. Abdullah was 37 years old when he assumed the throne in early 1999.

Since becoming king, he has worked to improve Jordan’s economy. He has also focused on improving the education system in his country.

King Abdullah is married to Queen Rania. They have 2 sons, Prince Hussein and Price Hashem, and 2 daughters, Princess Iman and Princess Salma.

King Abdullah has many interests, like sky diving, rally racing, and scuba diving.
