Meet the Explorer: Lindsay Clark |
|
Hometown: Wabash, Indiana. Favorite Food: Mexican cuisine, classic American holiday side dishes, and anything with avocado. One musician I’m really into right now: Sade is singing to my soul these days When I was little I wanted to be: An actress and the youngest author in the world. Some places I’d really like to visit: Borneo, Havana, Papua New Guinea, Burma, Thailand, Pakistan, and Iceland. One thing I can’t travel without: A notebook to write down travel stories, keep notes about trip logistics, and draw pictures of airplanes and buses when the language barrier is too vast. What I miss most when travelling: Free, unlimited, wireless internet. I sprint to the nearest free hotspot while on the road. Is that sad? One thing that really scares me: Not knowing the major cultural faux-pas of where I am and deeply offending someone unintentionally, which thankfully doesn’t happen that often. The most daring thing I’ve ever done: Trying to self-start a humanitarian project in a remote Fijian village...and jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet. Favorite ProjectExplorer experience: Pulling a couch into a Oaxacan plaza and having an impromptu fashion photo shoot with designer Silvia Suarez. ProjectExplorer Expeditions: Mucho México. Upcoming: Quick Trip Haiti & Sawasdee, Thailand. Lindsay has been straying from the conventional path since she graduated Indiana University with a B.A. in Studio Art and Art History, circumnavigated the globe three times in the last three years. Though she lives to document her travel experiences and teach others about the world, she cannot stop dancing when music is present and can play a mean piano when prompted. And she’s always game for a good Mariah Carey karaoke challenge. Check out her travel website: www.nomadderwhere.com |
