Ubuntu - Alexandra Township

“Before I began my work in the humanitarian field some people tried to discourage me by doubting the difference one person could make. Looking at my achievements, I am glad that I chose to listen to my inner voice, that I believed in myself and trusted “the power of one”... I hope to motivate people to believe, act and to start a ripple effect that hopefully will become a wave of social change.” - Galit Cohen

(Galit worked for over 5 years in community development and HIV/Aids projects in South Africa. Beginning as an unpaid volunteer, she was promoted to National Director of Projects at an NGO that focuses on community development in South Africa’s impoverished areas.)
