Courtney Lawsing has worked in the nonprofit sector, in various capacities, including health education programming, advocacy efforts in emergency education, and development and fundraising in education. Courtney brings significant fundraising and donor relations experience to the project, as well as several years in the field of international education.

Most recently, Courtney worked on the Individual and Family Foundations team for the East Coast, Central Time and Canada for Room to Read, an international nonprofit that focuses on global literacy and gender equality in education in Asia and Africa. Courtney has been involved with the New York philanthropic community since 2007 through her work as Director of Annual Giving at an all-boys private school in New York City. Previously, Courtney worked with the United Nations Children’s Fund, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison LLP and ChildFund International in Ecuador. Courtney has volunteered extensively over the last few years as an educator in both Latin and South America, and with The George Foundation and the Shanti Bhavan Children’s project in both New York and Southern India. Courtney has also volunteered as a lecturer in the NetAid Annual Poverty-Fighting Summit at Adelphi University in New York. She is a member of Women in Development (WID-NY) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Courtney graduated from Bates College and has a Masters in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University.
