Amy Kleisner graduated with a degree in Journalism and International Trade from the Fashion Institute of Technology. In the 1980s She was the Senior Editor of Sportswear International and In Fashion magazines. She went on to become the US Editor of Select and The Manipulator magazines. During the 1990s, Amy was an organizer and then Executive Director of the National Writers Union/ UAW Local 1981.

Since 2000, Amy has enjoyed the title of Mom to William, 8 and Peter, 2 and in that capacity started the Hoboken Family Alliance, a 450-family group dedicated to enriching the lives or all children in this mile-square city.
