Jeff spent the first 20 years of his professional career in the world of network television advertising, initially selling commercial airtime for local network affiliates and ending up in various senior management positions with MTV Networks. In retrospect, the greatest accomplishment in that 1st phase of his professional life was being part of the developing team that launched Logo, the MTV Network programmed for the GLBT market - “groundbreaking, relevant and thrilling to launch a new television network from the ground up.” In January of 2008, Jeff left the corporate world for not-for-profit and became the Deputy Executive Director for Development for City Year New York - a national service organization and AmeriCorps program that unites young adults aged 17-24 for a year of full-time community service, mentoring and leadership training, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world. Jeff is thrilled to have made the transition, as his personal interests have always been kids, young adults, education, community development and empowerment. Those core passions, as well as the year he spent travelling around the world, are what brought him to ProjectExplorer. Jeff and his partner split their time between the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts and the Upper West Side in New York City. Willie, their 8-year-old Chocolate Lab, runs the show. |
