Michael Bishara is senior vice president, HBO Broadband, for Home Box Office, responsible for the overall strategy and development of broadband products. He was named to this position in March 2007. Previously, he was vice president, Product Development, responsible for all new product developments and their deployment. Bishara began his career at HBO in 1998 as a Marketing manager. That same year he was promoted to director, Marketing and Programming, where he was responsible for HBO and Cinemax marketing and packaging to the C-Band satellite market. In 1999, he moved to Interactive Ventures, where he was responsible for online business development and e-commerce. Under Bishara, Interactive Ventures launched the HBO.com store, HBO’s first integrated e-commerce consumer site. He later was promoted to vice president, Interactive Ventures, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic planning for HBO’s consumer websites - HBO.com and Cinemax.com. In March 2003, Bishara's responsibilities were shifted to the rollout of HBO On Demand and Cinemax On Demand, the company's two SVOD services. Before joining HBO, Bishara was a Marketing manager for Time Inc., responsible for retail marketing strategies at Time Magazine. He also worked at AT&T in the Advanced Network Solutions area. Bishara holds a BA in Sociology and a MBA in Marketing Management from the University at Buffalo.
